Clarksville veteran and City Council candidate Trisha Butler will travel to Washington, D.C., Tuesday as part of a veterans movement to persuade Congress to support President Donald Trump’s call to bring U.S. troops home from endless wars in the Middle East.
Butler, who served seven years in the Army, including two deployments to Iraq and one deployment to Afghanistan, called the invitation “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“I am humbled and honored to be a voice for so many heroes who are paying the endless cost and sacrifice of these conflicts. I volunteered so that my children and future generations would not have to. It’s time to bring our troops home,” Butler said.
